The success story continues! After eight successful years, over 500,000 enthusiastic visitors in five countries and top international artists including Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Alice Cooper, Don Felder (Eagles), Steve Lukather (Toto), Joey Tempest (Europe) and Midge Ure (Ultravox) Rock meets Classic 2018 is embarking on another spectacular tour! Manfred Hertlein Veranstaltungs GmbH is proud to present the crème de la crème of rock music on stage again this year:

from STATUS QUO: Francis Rossi
from GOTTHARD: Leo Leoni & Nic Maeder
from SUPERTRAMP: John Helliwell & Jesse Siebenberg
from THE HOOTERS: Eric Bazilian
from SAGA: Michael Sadler
& The Mat Sinner Band & RMC Symphony Orchestra

Francis Rossi, founding member, singer and guitarist of STATUS QUO. There are not enough superlatives to describe the success story of Francis Rossi and his band Status Quo. The band was founded in 1967, and is one of the most successful and enduring rock groups of all times. To date, the band has released 30 studio albums, over 100 singles and has sold a total of nearly 120 million records. They have performed 5,000 live concerts in over 80 countries all over the world in front of a total of 25 million fans. Francis Rossi is the front man of this super group, and his voice and guitar sound are the hallmarks of the famous Quo sound. Francis Rossi is a charismatic, world-class entertainer, which he will prove once again at Rock meets Classic during the band’s “best of” Quo set.

Leo Leoni and Nic Maeder, guitarist and singer from the Swiss rock band GOTTHARD. 25 years ago, GOTTHARD broke out from their native Ticino to conquer the world with pure, unbridled rock and massive power ballads. And 2017 shows they’re still the masters of their craft: with 15 no. 1 albums and a wall covered with multi-platinum awards, GOTTHARD are not only the most successful band in Switzerland, but are rarely out of the global spotlight. GOTTHARD have featured in the charts for 25 years, and are Swiss rock at its best!

John Helliwell (saxophone) and Jesse Siebenberg (singer) from SUPERTRAMP. Supertramp made their international breakthrough with their 1979 album “Breakfast in America”, which catapulted them into the exclusive circuit of international stadium gigs. They have written their own page of music history with classics like “Logical Song”, “It’s Raining Again” and “Give A Little Bit”, and have sold 60 million albums. The fantastic sax playing of John Helliwell gives the band its distinctive feel. Jesse Siebenberg has been the lead singer since 2009, and takes the Supertramp sound into a different dimension. We’re really looking forward to great songs and a fabulous atmosphere.

Eric Bazilian from THE HOOTERS. Eric is the musical director of the Hooters, and essentially responsible for their characteristic sound. Eric Bazilian and The Hooters first gained prominence after their appearance at the Live Aid concert in Philadelphia on July 13, 1985, and went on to top the charts with songs like “All You Zombies”, “Johnny B.” and “Satellite”. Eric Bazilian has also written very successful for Cyndi Lauper, Bon Jovi, Patty Smith, Robbie Williams and Billy Idol. Eric was the unbelievably positive and lovely surprise in the Rock meets Classic Tour 2013, and all the RMC fans were demanding to have him back. We listened to them, and are delighted to say that Eric will be performing again with us in 2018!

Michael Sadler from SAGA. Michael Sadler is the singer and multi-instrumentalist from Canadian rock legends, SAGA. With over 1,000 shows in 20 countries and 8 million records sold, SAGA have written rock history. In January 2017 Michael Sadler announced that SAGA had decided to split up by mutual agreement, after the end of the 2017 sell-out tour. We are of course thrilled to present this exceptional artist in the line-up of the 2018 Rock meets Classic Tour 2018. The press is unanimous: “Sadler 2017 sounds better than ever.” This is what he’s going to prove at the 2018 Rock meets Classic with his hits “Wind Him Up”, “On the Loose” and many more!

Rock meets Classic just wouldn’t be Rock meets Classic without the Mat Sinner Band and the RMC Symphony Orchestra, who every year manages to give the great world hits of rock a new symphonic make-over, and give the songs a brand new fascinating look and dynamic. Rock meets Classic is the cross-over project, that combines the world’s most famous rock singles with symphonic elements in a three-hour concert.
